A Scout is Thrifty...

He earns is own way to Summer Camp!

Longhorn Council is pleased to announce the Camp Card fundraising program. Scouts can earn their own way to a Summer Camp or a Day Camp! Units participating in the 2012 program will earn up to  50% commission on the sale of each $5 Camp Card sold (see details for more information).

Units must register their participation in the program by submitting a Camp Card Sale Commitment Form to the Council by February 15, 2012. Sales may begin on March 1 and continue through April 27.

Netopalis Sipo Schipinachk 2012 Spring Fellowship

logo oaIt has come to that time of year again: Lodge Fellowship! This year our lodge, Netopalis Sipo Schipinachk, is hosting our annual Spring Fellowship. It is being held on March 16-18 at Worth Ranch. The theme is "Wild West"; this means we will have barbeque meals, many shooting activities, and even a mechanical bull! It is essentially our lodge's annual party. Please come out for a great time with your fellow arrowmen. It is also a great opportunity to pay your 2012 dues.

I encourage you to join us this year for a great time. Even our 2012 Southern Region chief David Joyner will be attending. Please fill out icon 2012 Spring Fellowship Registration Form, attach $25 dollars, and send to the council office.

Leaving Topsanah

District Scouters;

 

It is with a heavy heart and high hopes that I leave Topsanah. I have accepted a position as the Trinity Trails District Executive in Fort Worth. I am still a member of the Longhorn Council and will continue to office at the Hurst Council office. This will be a added experience to my career and I look forward to working with the Trinity Trails volunteers and community. I could not have asked for a better district to begin my career. I will always remember the many experiences I have had and lessons learned. I have appreciated every one of you and hope you feel the same.

Council is currently interviewing for a new DE and is working hard to fill the position as quickly as possible.  In the meantime, Cindy Polman will provide guidance and be a resource for the District.  She can be emailed at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. I will see many of you around different Council events. Please feel free to say hello any time. I am not sure if I will be attending any district events or meetings. I will however be a guest at the District Dinner to give my thanks.

It is that time of year again - recruiting!  We often have a lot of new leaders this time of year and sometimes people forget that they need to update their positions in their units.  In the past, you had to turn in a whole new application.  Council has created a smaller and simpler form to note leadership changes within the same unit.  If you are taking a new position, please fill out the  Leadership Position Change Form.  The signatures of your COR are still required but this can be turned into Council or through Chris Munoz.
