NEW LEADER to Cub Scouting?  Want to be successful  at your current Cub Leader position?
Plan to attend the CUB SCOUT SPECIFICS training for DEN LEADER (TIGER, WOLF, & BEAR), WEBELOS LEADER, MEMBER OF COMMITTEE, ASSISTANT CUBMASTER, PACK COMMITTEE CHAIR, CUBMASTER. Please ttake the time to register by selecting TRAINING -Registration (helps with having enough materials when needed). NO COST.
Note: Complete "Youth Protection Training (YPT), "Fast Start Orientation", and "This is Scouting" online (myscouting.org) if possible.before attending (not required, but recommended).

WEBELOS WOODS-October 25, 2014 SATURDAY

Come and join us this year for our annual Topsanah District Webelos Woods. This is a perfect opportunity for Scouts and parents to meet with our area Troops and Scout Masters and gain insightful information of the exciting adventures that await them as they advance to the next level of Scouting.
Our Camp will begin at 10:50am on Saturday October 25th and conclude after the campfire program(bring a chair).
 
WEBELOS WOODS REGISTRATION
 
 
 This year our area troops have created some amazing activities that will include High Adventure Camp and equipment demonstrations, Pioneering Skills display, knots and lashing, rope bridge, Webelos chariot race, First Aid demonstrations and activities, Tomahawk throwing skills, Hatchet throw and basic totin chip skills,  Outdoor Cooking with Dutch oven demonstrations.
I encourage all Webelos, den leaders, and parents to plan to attend this event. Many of the our planned activities are burdensome to do on a pack level during a family campout, not to mention the activities not offered on a Cub Scout level like throwing tomahawks, hatchets and walking a rope bridge. Troop 262 will be assisting the Webelos Scouts and parents prepare their own personal dinner (food provided by camp) over an open fire without the use of utensils. This is a skill that could be used at all your family cookouts.  All registered Webelos Scouts will receive a custom camp patch, first aid kit for their backpack complementary of First Choice ER, and skills and memories that will last a life time.
 
This year overnight camping will be strictly optional. Each camper will need to provide their own breakfast (Sonic in walking distance) on Sunday morning. There will be a Scout Service on Sunday morning at 8:30 am when we will then need to respectfully vacate the property between the churches scheduled 8:30 and 10:30 services. No Scouts or minors will be allowed to stay overnight without an adult or guardian camping with them.
The good news is that we have lowered our fee this year to Webelos Wood to only $8.00 per Webelo and $6 for accompanying adults. We have tried to do everything possible to make this an exciting and affordable event so that every Webelo I& II Scout can come out and take advantage of this excellent opportunity of learning by doing.
 
CUB SCOUT SHOW CANCELLED
We have decided to forgo the Cub Scout Show until spring to allow each pack more time to better plan an activities to showcase. This will also allow more time to promote this event in our schools, churches, and community  in order to bolster our spring rallies. This topic will be further discussed at our coming monthly roundtable meetings.  
 
Attached you will find a BSA medical form(no physical req’d), hard copy registration form and a link to online registration (see above).
